Thanks for the video Steph. I'd forgotten all about that song.

Let's just hope most of the residents were smart enough to heed the warnings and get out in time. On a happier note, OK! has posted more pics from their photoshoot at home with Taylor on their website. A few are new and then a couple are wider shots of the ones which made the magazine. I'm about to post them in the thread - don't miss them. Have a good Saturday everyone. |

Love right back to ya'll.
I went to school yesterday because I had a major test on skills. I did really good. I am not going to school Monday. I have to take care of some business matters. I also need to go to Huntsville High and see what James needs to do. The coverage of Ike does look like it has done a lot of damage.

Good morning, everyone!
I haven't been to bed yet, and I don't think I will. I'm feeling a real positive energy today, so I'm going to go on a long walk and maybe stop somewhere and write today. It's a good day just to reflect. Bev, please be sure to take time to care for yourself. Thanks for posting the pics, Gerri. Hope everyone has a good day! |

Hey gang!!
Yesterday was a pretty good day for me. I started reading the book Wicked (It goes into much more detail and is rated 'R' compared to the musical.) and I took some awesome photos. Dad's at work until noon, so I think I'm going to walk to the park and read some more. Wishing everyone a great Sunday.

Good morning.
Enjoy your book Steph. I'm reading a Nicholas Sparks book right now called "Dear John". I saw on CNN where there was flooding from Ike in Alabama, but they didn't specify where. I presume it was down by the coast. I'm supposed to work today, but I'm calling in sick. It's just a cold, and I'm much better today than I was yesterday, but I haven't taken a sick day in years. I figure I deserve one. And now I don't have to go back to work until Wednesday - so that means a 4 day weekend. Have a nice day everyone. |

Good morning.
I slept in, which is probably exactly what I need to do in order to get better. I spent a huge chunk of yesterday watching a CSI marathon on Spike, and the rest reading or playing on the computer. I do have a few things I need to do, both around the house and some errands, but I may leave those until tomorrow. Have a nice start to the week everyone. |

Good morning, everyone!
So, this is how my morning has gone: Susan: Oh, you're still up! Me: No, I actually went to sleep and woke up about fifteen minutes ago. Susan: What's wrong? XDDDD Gerri, be sure to take care of yourself so you're cold will go away. Hope you're feeling better! Bev and Sherry, if you stop by I hope you're doing well. Lots of love to everyone and have a great Monday! |

morning,
The news about Grease made me smile this morning. I am not going to sugar coat what we are going through here. It is rough, real rough. ' We are NOT doing the typical funeral rituals. I had Jim cremated and we are having a celebration of his life at my sister's house Saturday. After his Mom died a couple years ago he and I talked about what we would want. I am glad we had those talks. James is going back to school today. We talked with a counselor yesterday at the high school. I am so worried about him. I don't want him feeling hehas to take care of me now. Angela is back in school and also back living at home. I go back tomorrow. I went last Friday because they were doing skills testing but have stayed home since. Thank you for all your love and support.

Good morning.
It's going to be rough for a while. And things will never be the same again. But with time you'll start to build a new normal. Taking it one day at a time is a cliche, but it's also true that it's all you can do. We didn't have a funeral for my dad either. We actually did something quite similar to what you're doing for Jim - a get-together at the house for family only to eat and drink and swap stories. My mom was an only child, and so a few years after we moved out here they followed. By then they were into their 80s and they never did have many friends here, so we had just had a little funeral with the family and the minister at the house. My dad liked the idea so much that he insisted upon no funeral to me. I think it's what I want too. It's so much more personal and meaningful than a bigger church funeral. I did manage to get out of the house yesterday to run a couple of errands. And for my effort I got to hear Taylor on the PA at Walmart singing "Gonna Move". That was a new one for me, and a song I never expected to be picked up by the satellite radio stations so my Taylor break was a very happy surprise. We've got people coming today to clean the furnace and ducts. I'm not totally better yet, but am well on my way, so I think I'm going to head to the mall while they're here. If I'm feeling up to it I might even catch a matinee of "Burn After Reading". Have a great day everyone. |

Taking it one day at a time is a cliche, but it's also true that it's all you can do. ITA. And know that your friends are always here for you. =) Today was really good. Dad and I went to eat at this yummy Mexican place and I picked up some chalk for a project I'm doing and also got a present for my two cousins. We're probably going to visit them sometime in the next month, and I always like to get them a little something. They're so cute. |

Good morning.
It sounds like you had a nice day Steph. I decided it was too nice to spend the day inside, so I opted to head to the park downtown instead. I picked up some lunch, had a picnic by the river and finished my book. Today it's back to work. Boooo. I've enjoyed these 4 days off, even if I was pretty sick for the first one, but it's time to go back. I need to be saving money for next year's Taylor adventures. Have a great hump day everyone. |

Good morning, everyone!
I've got to stop this whole staying-up-for-days-without-sleeping thing. =/ So, how is everyone? What's the hot jams? What's everyone listening to? XDDD Haha. Channeling Michael Buckley. RENT comes to theaters in less than a week and I'm all too excited. Tickets are twenty bucks a show (For a movie. It wasn't even actually filmed on the closing night. Bluhh.) Anyway, I'm still excited. I'm going to try and go all four times. I don't know if that' actually going to happen or not (Seeing as how two of the showings are on weeknights, and that would be eighty bucks total.) but I'm going to try. Chances are it's NOT going to be released on DVD, so I at least want to see it on the big screen. (This also my way of making things up to 12-year-old me. Quick walk down memory lane…I saw the trailer for the movie, I begged my mom to take me to see the film, she wouldn't budge. She didn't know what the show was even about - Had she, there would have been no way I'd been permitted to see the movie - but I resented her for months for taking me. 12-year-old me didn't know what the show was about either, she just liked the song that played in the trailer, the clips of the people made her happy, and all the talk about love made the movie seem really poignant.) So…yeah. That was rambley and pointless. Hope everyone has a good Thursday! Weekend's almost here! |

Good morning.
$80 is a lot for a movie, but it is less than you'd pay to see it even once on stage. I don't think I pay that on movies all year. Have a great Friday all. |

$80 is a lot for a movie, but it is less than you'd pay to see it even once on stage. Yeah, when I saw it last April, it was sixty dollars a ticket. But still it was live, and such a moving experience. It's like with Taylor - Videos just don't do him justice. Live art. <3 Psh, you should see my movie bill. I think I spend more on movies than I do food. Hope everyone has a swell weekend. =] |

Good morning.
I wish I could see the shows for $60 when they come through here. We pay $100, which isn't that much less than the Broadway tickets. I think teenagers feel like that pretty much everywhere Steph. We hung out at the mall and/or movie theatre a lot of Friday and Saturday nights too. Our world got a little bit bigger once we were old enough that there were cars available, but when we had to rely on Calgary Transit there really were very few things we could do. What am I doing up this early??? I don't have to be in until 9 today, instead of the usual 7, but I didn't reset the alarm so it still went off at 5. Yuck. |

Good morning, everyone! Gerri, you can I both woke up too early this morning. I woke up at five this morning, tried to go back to sleep, but couldn't for the life of me. Bluhh. >.< So I spent almost six hours watching "What Not To Wear" and other fashion shows. For someone who doesn't care what she wears, I really do enjoy watching/reading about fashion for some reason. I spent the night at Holli's house last night, and now we're off to go to the fair. It's in an actual decent part of town this year, so we
decided to go. Hope everyone has a great weekend! |
