Whoo hoo! My pit row A ticket was even better than I thought it was going to be-front row center! Tay was only 15' in front of me, and I can't tell you
how hard it was to not bring all my photo gear! He was awesome, and the lighting on him when he sang WRIR was incredible! They used a few red spots, and it was
so, so pretty. He did a CD signing afterwards, so I got my CD signed and hung around and just "enjoyed" him from 4' away...

I'm thrilled that you had such a wonderful time last night. There is nothing better than Taylor live.
There must be a city or 2 I'm forgetting, if they're only in Portland for a week. Because Seattle is still 3 weeks away. |

On the Taylor website where you can do the presales/M & Gs etc., there is a big gap in the schedule, and Portland isn't even listed on there. Weird!
There was a time frame of about 20 minutes after Taylor finished the CD signings, and before he left in the TownCar. I don't know if he did a M & G
backstage then or not, but I don't think I ever saw a presale for that...all of the cast had already left as well by then. There are lots of cast members
that are on the tour that I saw in NYC in Jan. 08 when I was there for Clay's opening weekend in Spamalot. There is also a new cast recording out with Max
Crumm and Laura Osnes who won their roles of Danny and Sandy on "Grease, You're The One That I Want." Unfortunately, Taylor isn't on the cast
recording...bummer!

Just heard Taylor's interview, and I'm surprised he was up and at 'em at 7am! Some highlights: he still watches Idol, and watched some last night
in-between costume changes. He is happy they've "taylorized" some of the words to "Beauty School Dropout" for him, and loves being in
the show. He definitely remembers the Crystal Ballroom here in Portland where he performed 2 years ago. He considers his Broadway role as sort of a
"training/observer" role so that he can see how Broadway shows go. He thinks that being able to promote his CD AND be in the show is a total win/win.
He currently has Jim Croce and Van Morrison on his iPod, and he gave a shout-out to his horn player Brian Gallagher who plays on his single. He was very
gracious and laid-back. They also played WRIR, and unfortunately, that will be the last time I hear Tay on that radio station as he doesn't get played on
there-boo hiss!

Brian is a nice guy. I stood on the street in Dallas talking to he and Josh for a good 15 minutes after the show there in Aug of 2007.
I remember the Crystal Ballroom very well too. It's a beautiful venue - albeit a very hot one. I was pretty dehydrated by the end of that show. |

I'm growing to hate Yuku.
I can only get on here once every few days. Every other time I get a broken link message. But I can get on the CB every time I try (????) - though last week it was down for me, along with any Yuku site. |

Well, this was the board that screwed up my whole log-in when I tried to reply to a post about a month ago. I at least can access this and the CB again, but my
e-mail is wrong, and there is no way to change it with yuku... Going to see Taylor tonight again in my first balcony regular seats. Surely wish they were front
and center again as they were Tuesday night as I was so blessed to have such a nice view...

Tay is spending today filming the video for Seven Mile Breakdown.
The single is being released to country radio, so I assume that means the video will be released to CMT. Might actually get some airtime. |

Well, boy am I feeling lucky about seeing Taylor earlier in the week for Grease! My regular subscription ticket was last Sunday night, and I have to say there
were some pretty disappointed fans AFTER the show... He was great as usual during the show, but when it was time for him to do his solo, the house lights came
up and NO TAYLOR! I tore out to the stagedoor because a theater person had told me there wouldn't be a CD signing either because the show needed to pack up
and get on down to Costa Mesa. Well, the entire cast came out and signed the playbills, and still we waited and waited and waited... One hour after the show
finished, the very last people out the stagedoor told us that he had left one hour prior-argh! Either he skipped out purposefully, or he was gunning to catch a
late night flight to LA so that he could meet with the AI peeps on Monday... I was pretty bummed because I had brought some folios of photos from the concert 2
years ago, and I really wanted them signed and for him to see them. Oh well, I was even MORE thankful I bought that extra ticket because I got the whole meal
deal on Tuesday night. When I was talking to the Broadway box office people yesterday about another series subscription matter, the guy told me that a few
other people were pretty bummed that Taylor didn't do his single nor do a stagedoor. I didn't buy the Shadow Tour ticket for Seattle because I assumed
all along that there would be a Portland show. Unfortunately, I'm having surgery next week and will be unable to travel to Seattle by that time. Geri-are
you going??? Take pix if you do!!!!

I'm not going to Seattle - I'm going on that New Kids on the Block cruise, and it's the same weekend that I was planning on attending Grease.
I'm ok with missing Grease, I did see it 3 times on Broadway, but I am a little sad about missing that shadow tour show. They seem to be getting better and
better. There will be a cellcert, so I'll of course listen to that, and then with the new video policy there should be pretty good audio and video
afterwards as well. And he will be on tour again - I'll make up for missing out on him this year then. By then I should have the new camera totally
mastered too. I took it to Kelowna and got some amazing pics, so I know that when I get to see Taylor again I should finally be able to take good pics and
video of the man, instead of the crappy grainy ones I got with the old camera.
Taylor doesn't skip out purposely. He's one of the best I know for staying around until everyone has their autograph, and he's done so since the AI tour. Even when he wasn't so comfortable doing it (he seems totally at ease now) he did it because he knew it was important to us. So I'm sure it was simply a schedule thing. I'm just glad for you that you got your face time on the Tuesday. |
